In \'Tenchu - Stealth Assassins\', the first game of the Tenchu series, you take part in a variety of missions usually involving the assassination of a certain individual.
You have a choice of two characters, each with different weapons and slight differences in story.
Besides yor main weapon, you also have a variety of tools available for you to choose from at the beginning of a mission, such as a grappling hook, shuriken, smoke bombs, etc.
If the player wants to achieve maximum score, they must attempt to employ stealth tactics by sneaking up on unsuspecting enemies and \'stealth killing\' them.

Tenchu: Shadow Assassins is a stealth game developed by Acquire published by FromSoftware in Japan and Ubisoft worldwide for Wii in 2008, PlayStation Portable in 2009. The game allows the player to control both Rikimaru and Ayame, having all ten missions based on the ground. You will not have swords in this game except for the sword fights. The first five stages and the final stage use Rikimaru, stage six to nine are Ayame. There are also 50 side quests and thrilling adventure experiences of becoming the last ninja. There are about ten versatile items in this game. You will have to use the analog stick on the Nunchuck accessory to move, the A button to act, hold down the B button while moving forward to run or while moving to the side to strafe and the C button to jump (can jump far be done while running). The playstyle of the PlayStation Portable version is generally the same. However, its controls have been changed to match the functionality of the handset. The game consists mostly of sneaking through the levels while killing or evading the guards. The smartly designed stealth clock will help you stay hidden, the moon image will shine when you are exposed; obscure clouds if you hide and surrounded by stars representing the position of the enemy.
